The Story: Queenin' in the Queen City
Hey, friends! I'm Asha. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. You could be anywhere in the world, but instead, you're here with me and that means a lot.
So who am I and what do I do? What is this thing and why is it important? Great questions. I'm a 34-year-old marketing & communications professional by day, and a self-proclaimed social media queen, dog and plant mom, thinker of over-thoughts, foodie (@ashaeatsworld on Instagram), people-lover and queen of useless information the other 16 hours of the day. I moved to Charlotte in October 2016, with a failed marriage and a wasted educational pursuit as a clinical counselor under my belt. I was depleted, but hopeful. I didn't know then that I'd suffer a few more losses and blows to my ego, but it's all been for a purpose.

This blog initially began as a way for me to return to my writing roots in search of employment, but quickly transformed into a motivational community - a way to reach and connect with others. As Girl Gone Charlotte, I'm afforded the opportunity to connect with the Charlotte community on a raw and personal level. I uplift and encourage others, while being my creative, passionate and silly self along the way. I can only be and do all of those things because I've endured my share of obstacles on my way to becoming the empowered, affirming advocate for self-love and positive vibes that I am today. Here, as in real life, my tests have become my testimonies.

This blog is a safe place and a space for stories. I couldn't see it way back when, but God was changing me and my heart from the inside out. Now, I'm here to share my lessons - and motivation - with you. Won't you stay a while and listen?
