The hustle and bustle of the holiday season, paired with travelling to Florida, a full calendar, crazy deadlines at work, leading at church, year-end reflection and indulging in delectable food (read: overindulging), sent me into this new year craving a little rest and relaxation. In my spirit, and because the word I chose to focus on this year is “health,” I knew I needed to commit to taking care of myself.

So, imagine my delight when I met Celeste Mckever, Owner and Operator of Signatures of Solomon Wellness Studio on Saturday, January 12. She showed up looking like an answered prayer!

She was wonderful—a mix of good humor, cheerfulness, and a happy bag of nerves. It was soft-opening day at her new studio space at Salon Lofts in Steele Creek. She couldn’t have picked a better location than the buzzing (and booming!) neighborhood in southwest Charlotte that’s chocked full of great food, shopping, wonderful schools and even better salon and spa services. As I walked in to her beautifully furnished studio (loft 15), I was immediately mesmerized by an oversized plush, white rug that made me feel like I was floating on cloud 9.

“Could this be what Heaven looks like?!” I asked myself. It’s was definitely close.

From the folded massage table propped against the wall to the illuminated facial station and luxurious (yet cozy!) lounge in the corner of the room, I could tell this would be my new go-to place to escape and truly put self-care in to practice. After all, the signs are there: “Relax” and “Welcome to your wellness studio.”

“Hello!” Celeste beamed with a friendly smile and welcoming demeanor. “I’m so glad you’re here!”

So was I.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my Saturday afternoon than hanging out with Celeste and her family and friends. She is as hospitable as she is beautiful, caring and authentic. Following in a long line of entrepreneurs, Celeste says one of the reasons she established Signatures of Solomon is because people need a place where their wellness and care are paramount.

“If you don’t make yourself a priority, how can you expect other to?” she asked as we chatted about life, our passions, motivations, and what brought the Kansas native to the Queen City. “I just want to make people feel good from the inside out,” she added.

And she is well on her way!
